The output of furniture components by PG Bison’s manufacturing facility at Kampala Road in the Nairobi industrial area has been further increased following the purchase of a Biesse Stream A edge bander. This is their latest enhancement of the production line in which the Company has invested over Khs 350 million shillings.

Savo Djack, a Biesse engineer from Italy, commissioned the machine and transferred knowledge and skills on how to operate the new machine.                                                                                                      He said, “The operational speed of this machine is faster than most edge banders giving increased production output to improve the delivery of components.”

Talking about the equipment Gareth Jones, the Project and Engineering Manager of PG Bison, said, “The Biesse Stream A edge bander delivers a superior smooth clean finished edge on wood panel components using electronically controlled alignment settings and polyurethane (PUR) adhesive.

He continued, “The PUR adhesive is superior to standard EVA adhesives used for most edge banders.  It gives a chemical bond to the wood based panel which is superior and much stronger than EVA”
